		<description>Pennsylvania seems like a nicer place to live, in general -- but this is having never been to Michigan, nor to either campus, nor neccesarily to the cities in which either college resides (as I do not know this bit of information), which is probabally more important than the state.

I would guess that Penn State has more name recognition.

Penn State has a better football team, historically and recently, plus they have that 100-year old coach (or whatever).

Michigan State has a better basketball team recently. They had a great run (final four, I believe) in last year&#039;s NCAA tournament.

Michigan has more FIRST Robotics Teams (second only to California).

Michigan is (slightly) closer to Washington.

Nittany Lions versus Spartans...
