One of my co-workers was up in Washington for a conference and she mentioned that both Stevens and Snoqualmie were closed while she was there and since she was there for about a week I thought it was interesting that they closed the passes for so long! Here in Washington, we are having unusually heavy snows in the mountains. They are having trouble keeping Stevens and Snoqualmie passes open -- about every other day they close the passes for a few hours while they blast away at avalanch danger areas.
