I really don’t think this proposed buyout is good for either company. Microsoft is really only buying 2nd place in the search engine/advertising arena and could care less about Yahoo’s really cool web technologies. In the long run, Microsoft will likely squander their bought 2nd place ranking because of their corporate/marketing mindset which seems to stifle cool innovations and focus too much on short-term strategy. Yahoo shareholders, if they accept the deal, really don’t understand the value behind their technologies.
