Second edition to the family…

Elsie joined our family two weeks ago – mom and daughter are doing well and Cora is super excited to be a big sister. Cora also enjoyed playing with grandma when she came to visit us. The holidays have been great even if I’m suffering the lack of sleep that comes with having a newborn. I’m currently enjoying my yearly ration of eggnog.

2011 has been, generally, a good year, though I do miss my old teammates from the CHAMPS training team.

Here’s hoping 2012 is even better – and I extend that wish to the world at large.

New addition to the family

So Cora joined the McElroy family here on September 15th. She has excellent lungs and a voracious appetite and weighs in at a nice 7 pounds and 12 oz (now 8 pounds 8 oz). Needless to say this new addition changes everything. Right now its mostly daily routines (like dinner time) and sleep schedules. But Cora’s a keeper and this will definitely be an exciting and rewarding lifetime adventure. I’m enjoying my paid paternity leave and soaking it all in, sleep deprivation and all.

Dr. Aubrey Radcliffe. An amazing man. It was an honor to have known and interacted with Dr. Radcliffe. He was a character, and an inspiration. And what a life! Filled with doing good and making the world a better place by his caring for individuals and encouraging them to be better, to reach higher. Thank you for a life well lived.

It’s official. My wife is expecting, the due date the first part of September. Exciting!

A funny thing happened…

So this last week was a bit of a roller-coaster with all sorts of surprise projects and issues popping up on the radar screen. And last Friday as I got back to my office after the last round of meetings, I discovered a message on my phone. A good message. I had just won an iPod Touch.

A while back, Allegra Printing here in Okemos, sent me some marketing material which was for a free download of a whitepaper on print collateral marketing and mailing – which can be a great way, if used intelligently, of helping customers stay informed about your products and services (as Allegra demonstrated to me). Anyway, to download the whitepaper, you were given a unique URL to the download, which entered you to win an iPod touch. So I read the whitepaper and answered a small marketing survey.

And there you go – I had won an iPod Touch. Pretty funny.
So any good apps or games I should get for this thing?
