A dear family I know and love has lost a child in a tragic accident over the weekend. There are no words I can use to express myself adequately. So I leave a poem my wife found and shared with me, a poem that I feel best captures what I wish I could express. For my words fail me.<\/p>\n

Slip off your needs
\nand set them by the door.<\/p>\n

Enter barefoot
\nthis darkened chapel<\/p>\n

hollowed by loss
\nhallowed by sorrow<\/p>\n

it’s gray stone walls
\nand floor.<\/p>\n

You, congregation
\nof one<\/p>\n

are here to listen
\nnot to sing.<\/p>\n

Kneel in the back pew.
\nMake no sound,<\/p>\n

let the candles
\nspeak.<\/p>\n
